First off I just started fishing out of Fort Morgan last year, I rarely go more than 30 miles so 150' is about as deep as I get. With that said I am looking for a good fish finder, sonar, sounder, whatever you call it. I know very little about what is better vs. what is just a gimic, so far I have just relied upon my GPS numbers. I do not really need it to have GPS capability, and would like to stay under 700 bucks, but if a far more superior unit cost more I am not against spending more as long as it is worth it.

A Furuno FCV 667 is a CRT unit. The 620 and Bigger brother 585 are LCD units with real easy to use manual knobs.

To those who own the Furuno FCV 620, would you recommend transom mount or thru-hull x-ducers?

How much money do ya have and what is the end result you want?

Bottom line to the answer is yes a thru hull X-ducer.

The Airmar B60 is a good unit to go with that FF.

I've installed plenty of them. I ain't afraid to put a hole in the bottom of mine or your boat. :)

Just a few pix's of some I've done.
