need a sterndrive for a 4.3 mercruiser alpha one 90's model

I need to replace the drive on my best friends boat,I will consider a good used one or a rebuild.Or if you can tell me the best/least costly place to get one It would be a great help. 4.3 merc alpha one.

I bought a new aftermarket drive from SEI for $1,150 with a three year warranty.
