I launched from my usual "lucky" spot the last couple days. If you know where it is stop by and say hi and catch all the pelagics you want. If I'm bottom fishing stay the F back lol. Just kidding but I tend to start trolling when I see some one coming my way I dont recognize, ask oxbeast.
Both days I got a late start after dropping my daughter off at school. Tuesday bait was hard to get. Luckily I got a few bonita to use for bait. Primary goal for both days was to do a bit of trolling looking for tuna/mahi/sail and then do some bottom bumping looking for grouper.
Tuesday I got several mackerel on the troll but it was still slow and boring, Id rather not catch anything then to catch a mackerel.
Off to my bottom spot and when I get there I am swarmed by small triggers. They were worse then remora, unlike remora which wont chase your bait all the way down, the triggers did. Id feel a quick thump thump thump thump thump and then nothing after a few seconds only to reel up and have nothing but bonita skin. After drop after drop of this I had had enough and went out looking for better game. Again, nothing but mackerel  Oh and a shark that decided to tie my line in a knot around my rudder from over a mile and a half out thus ending my day as I had to drag him back to the beach to get him off.
Got some cool footage though, the crazy bastards would come out of the water trying to get the bonita chunks.

Today was more or less the same but bait was easier. Again, after tuna/sails/mahi I trolled straight south to the three nautical mark with nothing to show for it but a couple mackerel. I decided to hit a spot I had only fished once before and when I got there the snapper just swarmed me like the triggers yesterday. I couldnt get my bait past them to try and get a grouper.
I plug in another spot and make way, picking up yet another mackerel. Halfway there I mark a little something something and about that time I see on my FF the fish are coming up. I look over and sure enough dozens of snapper are coming up to say hi, yay, found a new bottom spot. I drop down bonita chunks and live bait and get a snapper instantly on every drop. My bait wasnt on the bottom for more then a minute before I had a snapper on, so again, no grouper.
I got bored of that and trolled on picking up one last mackerel of the day.
I got at least a dozen snapper and a few kings yet an empty cooler.
