Port Ops and the portside seawall are blocked off right now to most fisherman cause of all the oil cleanup crews in the area but im gonna post this report anyways. I hit the seawall today from about 2-4. Menhaden were everywhere and i quickly got a cast net full of them. Freelined them out there on my light pole and pretty soon i was hooking up on spanish left and right. Then out of nowhere a nice redfish crashed my menhaden and the fight was on. I had to walk him all the way to the beach cause i had light line and no dop net. The weirdest thing was that the spadefish down at the seawall would hit a dead menhaden dangled in their face. Usually i have only caught them on peeled shrimp but i guess they were super hungry today. One of the spadefish was even caught with a small piece of cut up nuclear chick gulp. The total for the day came to 6 spanish, 3 spadefish, 1 29 inch redfish, and a hardtail.
