My buddy in San diego caught these last night and sent me a pic asking what they where. They look like a pompano with no dorsal fin and the tail cut off. Anyone know what they are?

They look very similar to butterfish, but i'm not sure if they are found in the pacific

They look like butterfish to me.

Did you notice they are sitting on a aluminum foil covered pan. I think they are looking like dinner to someone.

Brandon not really sure but I think It's a Pelagic ButterFish,It's Not a Pacific Pompano The Tail is to short That I know for sure I looked it up but Can't post Pic's !!

Dwayne look up Pacific butterfish in Cali I think that might bethem still unsure thow.
