You can get cheap 3X9's at Walmart. I have a Traditions XLT w/ a Nikon 3X9. It is deadly out to 200 yards. Could probably push it a bit farther but I have only played to 200. You may want to rebudget the $$ and get decent optics. Do it right the first time. Good luck,
