Ok, i've got the mono to hollow core splice down but whats the best way to splice in a heavier topshot to mono?

i recently lost about 200yards of 100lb mono off the top of my 12/0 (overfilled anyways so not much of a dent). i want to splice in a topshot of 100ft or more of 130lb mono to help with abrasion. can i use hollowcore and splice it that way? do i need to leave a section of "free" braid to do the finger trap or can i butt the two ends up to one another?

or would i just be better off with a uni to uni?

Uni to Uni should work fine....I don't cut the tag lines too short they end up catching...
I would put the splice to one side or the other while stacking........

Do a double loop splice and make a loop to loop connection, then reel on as much mono as needed.

Uni to Uni should work! I have my main line and my topshot on my shark reel tied together with a uni and she hasn't let me down yet!
