I am going to give it a go tomorrow. As we all know, there will be a certain crowd out there this weekend (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm more concerned about the sheer number of folks taking up beach space.

I normally like to go a little East of Portafino, but based on reports from my wife, that area is tents and canopies as far as the eye can see. So I am thinking of heading towards Ft. Pickens. Two questions: (1) Has anyone had luck finding fleas (and pomps) out that way this year? (I've had trouble in the past), and (2) From your experience in the past, are the crowds usually mostly east of Casino Beach for this 'event'?

Of course, if it's bad at all the public access areas, I'll probably end up paying the fee and going past the Ft. Pickens gate.

Thanks in advance.

I am planning on going to Chickenbone Beach Saturday evening for some shark fishing. I understand it will be less crowded going west. Don't think I would go east due to the crowd. Not that I mind them, but I would rather not have to worry about shark fishing where they are swimming. Don't think they would like that kind of nibble on the toes.)

I am gonna take the wife, kids and friend or two, my kayak and a cooler with beer and ice.

Hope to see you there!
