I was netting some bait at Archie Glover before going out last week and caught something very unexpected in the net. When I was pulling it up I caught a glimpse of it and thought, "Man! That's a STUD pinfish!" Then I got the net on the dock and realized it was no pinfish. Pretty sure it's a Mangrove snapper; I've never caught one before. I'm sure y'all that throw nets a lot are used to netting unexpected things, just shocked me a little especially after netting a small bass in the same spot the week before.

Is it legal to net Mangroves? You know, in the event that I accidentally net +10" :D

Sure is a mangrove!

We've netted all kinds of juveniles, anything from flounder to redfish.

Caught a baby 20" shark at the finger jetty a few years back, dad watched it stroll the whole beach and was waiting with the cast net

I bought a 5' net several years ago, and never through it too much; I'd load up on finger mullet every once in a while, but that's about it. I've really been thinking about getting a larger net here lately to try to go after some some eatin' size mullet.
