Headed out to the flats yesterday evening looking for specks and reds. I started out tossing a mirrodine and quickly realized that was a losing battle with the grass at the tail end of the falling tide. Switched up to a plastic shrimp under a cork and started catching school trout like mad but very few keepers.

Went back out this morning and the water was much cleaner so I went back to the mirrodine and caught 15-20 trout. Still mostly small fish but did manage a few around 18". Also caught a mixed bag of spanish, bluefish, and a sail cat.

Serious fun for sure, especially this morning when there wasn't much grass to contend with and could work a mirrodine consistently. They lit it up all day. Real steady and aggressive pretty much the whole time.
