They are plentiful if you find them. I caught hundreds in my net friday afternoon, put three handfulls in my 5 gallon bucket w/ areator and they were dead in three minutes! I put to many in there, but still thats quick. Do yall really like them for bait, I have never had much luck and prefer other baits????
in my opinion they are the best bait for anything ive caught grouper,AJ, dolphin, tripletail, gator trout, reds, ladyfish,bluefish, spanish, and king to name most of the species ive caught with LY's, their good dead, alive, and frozen.
I read in Saltwater Sportsman this month that if you leave them down in the water in the net for a minute before you dump them in your livewell or whatever, it will give them a chance to live longer. This is b/c they regurgitate their food when they get stressed, so you give them a chance to do that before getting in the livewell.
