Hello everybody,

My name is Alexandre, I live in South of Brazil, I'm married for 6 years and I work with computers. I've been learning english very hard! Sorry my mistakes!

I'm planning to fishing in Rio Negro in Amazonas - Brasil, on november 2010. The most fish catched is peacock bass (tucunaré). There is a traditional way to fishing in the amazon on the "hotel-boat", but it's very expensive to me. I did discover another way more cheap, but not less interesting!

I will stay at a hotel in Barcelos (Barcelos is a city in the Amazon), and I get a local guide (I have very good references of him) who has a boat with an engine or motor, and he will take me to the fishing points, for 7 days. In the evening we will come back to the hotel.

My friend that would go with me, gave up. I thought, it would be great if I find someone who wants to go with me in this adventure, it would be like an interchange...I've been studying english a lot and it would be cool to know someone who speaks english and would like to know the Amazonia and fishing peacock bass and like the nature, of course!

If someone wants to know more about this subject, I am willing to give you all the informations about the city, the hotel, the local guide, telephone numbers, etc, etc...

I hope to find someone to sharing experiences...

Sorry my english mistakes...

Best Regards

Hello everybody,

I was thinking about my message. I puted it on another forum on internet, and one person told me that it could be dangerous...hehehehe. Yes, I agree, it's true. But I already told my intention, so I decided to show the details for the fishing. Here is the website forum where I got the tip:

http://www.turmadobigua.com.br/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9855

I'm a member on this forum. In this thread, André Viana (he went alone) told us about his fishing in a cheap way (not hotel-boat), and he made it like I describe for you. Mr. Dada is the local guide, he is 50 years old and he was born in Barcelos and he knows all the region! He is a very good person and reliable, like André said, I called and I asked him many informations and have a date with him on november. The hotel in Barcelos would be probably "Ornamental Hotel", it's a simple hotel, the staff is friendly and the breakfest is a little poor.

I live in Porto Alegre (south of Brazil) , and I need to go to Manaus (north of Brazil - Manaus is the capital of the state of Amazonas), from Manaus to Barcelos takes one hour by plane with "trip linhas aéreas" here: http://www.voetrip.com.br/. The fishing will be on november (the next season, the season is among october to march). Of course I could invite one person in Brazil, on that website forum (turma do biguá), but my intention is a kind of interchange...

With those informations, anyone can go to Barcelos, Mr. Dada gave his telephone and it's just enough to have a date with him.

Here is another thread where another guy got the tips from André Viana and went to fishing in Barcelos with his wife: http://www.turmadobigua.com.br/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10212

Ok, that's it. If you want more information about it, just ask...

I hope you understand my english...

bigrigz,

I think it's clear, there are 3 threads in portuguese, Ask your brother to read them.

Midnight Rider,

I don't need your money. I don't need to send you my adress. By the way, no one needs to send me money!!!!!

I came here looking for a partner! Just it! I put here the flight company from Manaus to Barcelos (you will buy your plane ticket, not me!), the local guide will be pay in Barcelos! The prices are on the links that I put here also!

I early told you, if you want, you can go alone, or with your partner!

Regards

All those people at that foruns don't mistreat me, they gave me great tips and they respect me.

I came here only to find out a partner to fishing, to do an interchange, to make friends, but now I see it was not a good idea...

But it's ok, there is no problem. I'm not hurt, I understand you.

Good bye

Alexandre Vidal

The guy seems pretty legit to me, he hasn't asked for any money or personal information. Seems to be putting a pretty good bit of work into this whole thing, where most scams or spammers have the same old message over and over again. Might actually be a pretty good opportunity for someone.

Welcome to the forum, your english is actually very good. Best of luck finding a partner.

no piranas? !!!.....very cool looking fish there....thanks for sharing.
There are piranha in his video, two actually. Both are Serrasalmus rhombeus, aka the black piranha.

Ive always wanted to fish in South America! I dont care if its for Dorado in Argentina (well it would have be Paraguay as the wife is from there) or Payara in Venezuela!

So did you end up fishing Rio Negro? If so, how close were you to the Colombian border? Interesting to see you catching Cichla temensis as well as Cichla orinocensis.
