If any of the shop boys around have a control arm and thrust rod(used) at your shop that you could part with, please let me know. I was poking around my engine today and found some pretty bad cancer on the control arm. The engine is a 1986 Evinrude 150 20". Thanks.

You are speaking of the tiller arm aren't you and you understand that those bolts are for the rubber mounts and does not hold the tiller arm on.

Wirelessly posted (Matt)

I guess I am confused. From the exploded diagrams and research I did it looks like it is. There is a long shaft that runs the length of the mid section with a nut on the end. And then at the top of this shaft is a fork with the "tiller handle". This fork bolts to the engine mounts. The engine mounts are the rubber parts you are talking about? The part number is 0392518.

The tiller arm and vertical shaft is one piece. The two bolts just go thru the upper mounts and hold the engine to the swivel bracket. In other words, that piece is the last piece to come apart when you disassemble everything.
