I just got my 100 ton masters near coastal license and am wanting to break into the sportfishing scene, I ultimately want to work as a captain on a decent sportfisher (hatt, bertram, viking, anything!!). I currently work offshore in the oilfield as an AB but I get to operate a 300 ft supply vessel and get wheel time out there. I know that the smaller boats will be challenging and I would love to ride along for the experience when I am home and someone "show me the ropes". If anyone is interested I would greatly appreciate the opportunity, I understand I may have to start at the bottom but any information on breaking into this would be great!! thanks guys!!
