BTW, I think Live sonar is really a gamechanger, especially in freshwater for bass and crappie. My son just won a BFL Pheonix bass tournament on Lake Hartwell, catching every winning bass using AT2. The amazing thing is Hartwell is known to be a LM bass lake and he weighed in 5 spotted bass.
I write this hoping to encourage guys to use it, it's amazing, even in saltwater!

Here you go:
Yep.
Thats exactly what I need. Mine needs to be operable from the cockpit with the option to use it on the bow if I ever crappie fish.

I’m thinking I’ll build a self contained portable in a rotomold cooler and drop a 30 ah lithium battery in it for power and if I want to use it on the bow, I’ll install a bow mount for the monitor.

that’s the way I did mine all the cables/communication box and lithium battery inside the box. Made little table in between front seats that I slide it to and drop a pin through it and into the box for the ride. Really easy to just pick up and take off the boat when stored.
Jeremy what did you use for a container? Ice chest?

Dewalt tool box. I like this one with wheels. I like to drag it up from boat the shed to the shop then name all my way points for the day that I find on that top unit. I have a cable that links it to the rear unit so everything is the same on my map and all units. Not just that boat but all boats and units.

I think your going the right way. Once I've used it a while I can't see doing it any different. To many Pro's to having it in a box that you can move turn or push away or closer to keep the sun glare off. From the front catching crappie and bait. Then move to the rear for spotlocking in front of structure and drifting baits right where you want them and knowing it the fish are there or active or not.

So many ways it's a game changer for every species. It's worth more than it cost for anyone that has to throw a cast net alone. It will change your understanding and the way you fish for almost everything if you pay attention. I don't care how good you are.

And Nope that center mount will suck side scan will get you where you need to be then trolling motor to get on bait or fish needs to have mounts that you can drop pole mount into into front and rear and both sides if you can. Once you get it on there you will see how fish react to the boat. And it all makes more sense..

I'm using a 23Ah and it powers my livescope and both screens all weekend with no problems. Battery is about the size of a motorcycle battery. It's actually the one the Garmin Tech recommended I use. I've also got my pole mounted in the front by my seat. I can see 360 degrees with it like it is. Since I'm only fishing for crappie that's what works best for me.

Since I'm a Live rookie, I'm excited about it. We've watched sheepshead show up and leave without biting. Without Live, we would have left the spots that would produce multiple fish.
Decades ago, we cast netted shad in lakes, I mounted my Flasher's transducer so I could forward scan and follow the schools, it worked, lol. Heck, I still have a SBTII and a Grayline bait tank that I hope to use again.
Do you keep the shad alive or use them for cut bait?

Both. And if I use them as cut bait I like to keep them alive until it’s time to use. In a perfect world anyway lol
