Took a friend and his grandson out this morning. The boy caught his first shark but he didn't want to get too close for a picture. He also caught a bunch of ladyfish and a tub full of white trout. I think he's hooked.

My 6 year old son caught his first keeper flounder last year, first keeper red snapper this season, and now he's on fire to catch a mahi mahi. I told him first I have to actually learn how to catch mahi, since I've never done it myself, but I'm excited he's excited.

Always love to see the kids getting turned on to fishing, good on you!

Those dolphin are a great kid's fish, bite and fight like a big ladyfish but are prettier and you can eat 'em! I hit one flounder spot with the youngster yesterday but no bites. It was really hot and we didn't want to burn him out so we came in early. I think that's key with kids, always keep it fun.
