I've always been a little creative in my thinking. Unfortunately, of late my brain has lost a lot of creativity as you may have noticed from the declining number of tips I have posted in the past 2 years.

I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last week. This explains a few things my wife has noticed. Now for some good news. I started taking a drug (not a new one) that boosts cognitive acuity. Two doses and I had a brain fart with a patentable idea. I woke up thinking about it, made a couple of drawings then made a crude version of the gizmo. I'd love to patent it but the process is expensive. We certainly could use the money. BTW, that is the first serious brain fart I've had in a year or more. On top of that, last night I made a little discovery with my guitar playing. Chord changes that have been a serious challenge are no longer a challenge. I got it!

At the moment, I am not too far gone. I'll get more info re: the prognosis and what to expect in a few days.

I have implicit faith in the power of prayer so I would appreciate some sent my way. Advice and encouragement would help too.

I'll be more than glad to lift you in prayer sir. I was told once you never say " I'll pray for you, it's the least I can do" No Sir, it's, " I'll pray for you, it's the MOST I can do!" I was also diagnosed earlier this year and been on my brain food pills for about 4 months now. Here's to commonalities Capt! Prayers being lifted, hope you have a great weekend and keep them ideas coming.

Such a cruel disease. You spend a lifetime accumulating memories just to have them taken from you. Sounds like your new meds are doing the trick. I hope it continues for you. You will be added to my prayers.

Prayers Sent

Prayers from my family to you. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as we do several other friends. Take your time and enjoy everyday...…….I have been doing that for the past several years since my heart attack...…..

Thank God for friends I've never even met.

Thanks for the prayers. At my age, chances are, I'll be OK until I croak.

Now days, I'll start a sentence then just stop. I'm sure it is aggravating to my wife but she'd never let on.

The funny thing is, I hadn't even noticed the decline and now that I know, I am trying hard to compensate for it. I've always been a list maker and note taker.

I kept a small recorder on my bedside table for years so I didn't have to get up to take notes. Other writers I know do the same thing. Kinda freaked out a couple of lady friend sleep overs when I was single. I have a note pad in my John for late night ideas and drawings. I guess I'll be taking more notes and making more lists.

I may be getting a little reclusive too. My guitar is my best friend. I wish it would relent and let me play it. Kinda like a "Hard to get" girl.
