Yesterday we had some massive Kings under the boat while we were drop fishing. We threw live cigar minnows, Menhaden, and other live baits at them with stinger rigs but couldnt get them to bite. Any other tips or ways to try and make these fish bite?
I have found that a cuda doesn't give a flip if the bait is slow or sits still. If the bait is screaming to get away that's when the cuda becomes interested. I have seen this with so many fish, the fast crazy bait gets the fish. When I was at the pier and I hooked a large LY and threw it out and if it lolly gagged around I would immediately reel it back and toss it to the side. When you put out a bait and it runs hard and keeps the line tight, THAT is the bait that gets hit!!
I would like to target black snappers. How far out do you guys go that have success consistently chumming up black snappers? Not looking for spots, just general areas to start my search. Thanks for any help!
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I live in the Midwest but get to make it down here a few times a year. In June my buddy and I had great luck snapper fishing and got our limits of gags fishing about 150-170’ foot of water. We have tried several times before and after the full moon this month...
Got my 13 yo son his first chicken dolphin, Mingo, white snapper and scamp grouper today. Water was pretty good, not quite flat like it forecast, but still not bad. So much fun watching my son reel up from 350’ deep.
