The weather report didn't look that bad with 1-3s and sunny in the morn and then clouding up in afternoon, soooooo Capt. Terry gathered Ed, Skip, and myself and launched KATHY II at Sherman about 7-7:30. Pass looked ok, but birds weren't flying with 45 degrees, 10-15 mph winds, and overcast skies.

Ed had to try out his new belt-beverage holder and one handed fishing.

Headed South and smooth going for about 10 miles, then the seas grew larger, wind colder, and sky continual overcast. Stopped about 20-25 miles out to try some Mingo holes, but we couldn't land even one! Plenty of undersized AJ, hugh ARS, some big blue nose, Red Grouper, an Almaco, but nothing to fill up the box.

Skip was on fire with his jigging and must have pulled in over 40 himself, many doubles on the same jig! The seas and wind continued to pound us, but kept trying for something to fill the box.

Finally gave it up and headed in with the Sun making its appearance and a beautiful afternoon. Seas continued to smash our knees but smoothed as we neared land.

All I can say is that we made it out, had some laughs, and a few cold ones, and experienced a day on the water.

Cheers :letsdrink
