wednesday morning i went out to hunt finger mullett to use that afternoon. in a swamp that is connected to the bay by a culvert under the road i saw what appeard to be mullett judging by the movement on top of the water... the water is very muddy and stained from rain runoff. first cast with a 6ft. baitnet turned out something totally unexpected. i had 3 juvenile tarpon about 8 or 9 inches long. i guess what i thought were finger mullett were actually baby tarpon gulping air. not much of a fishing story, i just found it pretty cool. going after trout and reds in the morning and will post a report tomorrow evening.
