So got out in the gulf for the first time on saturday! the addiction has been started. Got in the water about 1230, didnt have any live bait but had some left over menhaden. so me and my buddy trolled them, instantly got into huge schools of bait fish first troll had a double hook up of spanish 2 26in spanish in the box, back to trolling had my buddy who likes to stop and sight see so every time he'd stop 2-3 foot BT almost guaranteed. trolled for about 2 hours saw large kings skyin all over the place had one burn off about 50 yards of line then it was gone. on the way back in i caught one more BT about 4 to 5 foot long but it ran like a bull and right towards the shore, and a group of snorkelers. i think they quit after that. for my first trip in the yak trolling the gulf it was a success! so if anyone ever wants to get out and paddle about let me know i have my gear ready to go!

Where you at? I go in perdido at Johnsons beach almost every friday. I dont go out Too far ( half mile to a mile ) trolling or throwing jigs. Send a PM if you want to get up. Im usually in between the last 2 boardwalks you can park at --Colton
