Is it just me or does anyone else walk in Mikes and think it seems like theres no organization to the store. Other than the gun counter or bow counter, it's just an unorganized mess. They have a lot of stuff but need a makeover.

I agree. I went in there for the first time this week. It was crazy unorganized and had no flow to it. I went in there looking for some gun cleaning supplies and they didn't have hardly anything. It took me 10 minutes to talk to someone to find where the rem oil was in there and they weren't busy at all. I ended up at wal mart and they had everything I needed...

I enjoy Mike's, I just feel like since I'm not a 60yr old in a dress shirt, I'm not going to get any service. A simple "hi" when I walk in the door would be great... having someone come outside of the gun counter would be a straight up miracle.

I had to ask 3 different times for someone to get me a pair of boots from the back, I eventually got the chick at the cash register to get them for me.

This is why Mike's is my 4th choice in town, (behind Gander) I would rather go somewhere that I will get NO customer service, and walk in knowing that, than expect customer service and die of old age waiting for it.

The best thing about mikes are the different sweet young things that have worked the front counter over the years ha ha ha ha.There are some good people there and if you ever catch them not busy you can get good service.Seems like they will get there "regular" customers in that want to shoot the breeze for an hour and other customers will get overlooked.

^^^this

Same at Scotts in Jay but I still shop there because they have great stuff and most of the time great prices. However I have NOT bought several bows and guns because I got tired of waiting on someone to give me some dedicated service. I guess that is a good problem to have. They have always been busy when I've been there.

In their defense, I've heard them say more than once how hard it is to get competent workers that show up to work everyday and know the products.

That has been a common complaint about mikes for as long as I can remember. I actually worked there for quite a while when I was younger. Most of the guys are good folks but definitely some d-bags through the years too.

really ??? it could be that ive had the worst customer service experience of my life with him directly. its one thing for a floor guy to treat you like garbage but for the owner to do it i think that qualifies him as giant douche sorry if thats your pal but i call em how i see em

I don't know him ! Never been in there . I just think its not kool to blast a business on here . It affects everyone. Maybe u should try him again to see if it was a bad day deal on either end. Or he's exactly what u said.

affecting his business and helping people avoid having the same experience i did is exactly why anytime the subject comes up i make sure people know how he is.............my family has been in the munson/jay since long before Mr.Mike took the jay store over and there have been more than enough instances to confirm how he is.......anyone that knows me personally knows that im about as laid back and passive as they come but his actions i will not look over. i will never have enough influence to really hurt his business but when your business revolves around costumer relations and you act as he has acted towards customers a bad name is something you should expect

This. ^^^^ I haven't been in there in ages and won't be anytime soon. The word "Arrogant" comes to mind. Seemed to me that since they didn't know me I was'nt worth their time.

The only time I stopped there, the service was good, and the staff was friendly and well informed. The only problem was, they wanted about $60 for a box of TEN low brass (for a vintage 16ga.) shells, that I subsequently bought a box of 25 shells on line for about $20. I like to support local biz.......but GEEZE!
