I am sick to my stomach, I can not for the life of me figure out how they just screw you every chance you get. We met our 12k deductible in January, have been paying $1650 a month for coverage. Found out yesterday due to their billing department not filling our payment last month it lapsed this month and now we are un insured, with a terminally ill child. Try to get coverage today And the cheapest is 2100 a month with 15999 deductible. That is 41000 FKN DOLLARS! HOW IN THE FK AM I SUPPOSE TO KEEP MY KIDS ALIVE?????

Side note, I have a boat, camper, truck, 4 wheeler and house for sale. If house sells first going to have to live in the camper!

Done venting. Anyone live out of state qhere they have better options?

I live in AL, have BC/BS of FL and the customer service center is in NC.

Are they working on getting it cleared up or just telling you "too bad"?

I think all insurance is a racket...

They will gladly take your premium but when you have a claim... stall stall stall .... not covered because the moonlight lit up a rose petal in Japan on the 3rd of September.

On top of that, you're REQUIRED to have it. If you don't, then you pay a fine or tax (I dont remember which way makes it legal...)

I've never had a claim until recently when my wife needed to go to the emergency room for back pain that was bad enough to make her cry. Got a 4k or 6k bill, insurance denied the claim. I had to go back and forth with them for a long time before they finally decided to pay up.

What's entertaining to me is that you see insurance companies on TV ads bragging about paying claims... like it's somehow a favor or a perk of their service over another even though that's the sole reason you pay them... it's very telling

I keep hearing about a program called Medi-share. Sounds pretty good to me. I know I`m tired of paying outrageous medical insurance premiums.
I haven`t had the chance to thoroughly check it out yet.

Wife handles it all or 95% of it anyway. She resigned from her position for medical reasons, to have a surgery qith a long recovery, went on the carrier, Cobra at 1600 a month being our deductible was already met. Apparently there is a delay between when they bill and report and when the Assurian foes. Somewhere in their they accepted payment and applied it to a month prior when we were still covered from her work and somehow we nor they caught it or informed us, there inlies the lapse. No reinstate, just terminated. So the 12k deductible is gone and no insurance. I am so damn pissed can hardly see straight!

We make too much to qualify for any of the low income, but not rich by anymeans. Seems like the Government does not want to help those who actually need it, just the useless scum that choose not to do anything. I know there are a few who get the help they need, but its far outnumbered by those qho do not!

Idk, i haven’t had insurance in afew years. But yea I think it’s all a rip off, I’m self pay and my doc seems to treat me well. I have kids also, and nothing on them. Things happen and they way I look at it, if I can’t pay for it then I don’t need it. Unless it’s a house

This!

Even with my insurance, I filled out Sacred Heart's financial aid package. Took a while, but they wrote off 80% of one of my bills one time! The financial aid package is good for a year. So you have to fill it out only once a year!

Knowing your situation Jason, I would honestly tell the system to go $%^$ off and go uninsured. There are programs out there for you bud! Swallow your pride and take the help! Just some honest opinion from someone that knows a little about your situation! It took a lot out of me to fill out that aid package application many years ago! I thought no way, I make too much and it's usually the case for me. I make too much to get help but can't afford to pay for anything either!

Take care of your family! All the other possessions can come back later!

With that said, my wife's doctor just got out of the whole system and went out on her own and does not take insurance! We pay her a monthly fee and we get treatment from her as needed when we need it. No wait, and even house calls! It's awesome! I have to keep health insurance for catastrophic things and tests outside of her practice ability but, man when a doctor is free of the system it's like night and day! The health care system is one pyramid scheme on top of another!

I’m a healthcare professional and I honestly think that the reason healthcare in the US is so expensive is insurance companies. I don’t see any valid reason why we should have the insurance industry be the middleman between us and healthcare. Until we get rid of the insurance companies, it’s just gonna get worse.

We pay our primary care physician $60 per month for unlimited care and with no insurance involved, she cut her patient load and can focus on treating people again instead of filling the over arching hospital new patient quotas forced on her! Freeing herself from insurance and an affiliated hospital has improved our care tremendously.

Our main problem is the specialists and the range of care and medications my boys take. All except their primary care Dr. Are in Gainsville at Shands. They take close to 40 pills a day each, most of those are enzymes they have taken all their life. These enzymes are far beyond what you can get at the healthfood stores. Caystin, Tobi, Symdecko, those 3 meds I listed, pharmacy bills our insurance over 100k a month for. I wish it were as easy as just living without it or self pay. Between the pharmaceutical companies raping the insurance companies and the hospitals overcharging, I can see the cost, but damn! Do you eat, or do you see the Dr. And take meds!!!!
