A good friend of mine killed this deer last week in Iowa scored 153 with a broken tine and weighed 275 pounds thought you would like to see some pictures.

So is your buddy an Iowa resident ? What part of the state was this in. I'm in NW Iowa, and we have some big deer also, but there are more of them like this one in the southern and Eastern part of the state, where the habitat is better.
