Went fishing for spanish just out side the west pass of destin, no mackerel. Decided to come back in the pass and fish the brooks bridge and got somethig very interesting. I caught about a 3.5 foot spotted gar. A fresh water fish in the pass. All the rain we got pretty much turned te bay into freshwater. I found this very interesting and hope y'all do too!!

A co worker of mine got a 35-ish pound Cobia inshore of Crab Island by the Bay Cones last year. You never know what you are going to catch.

3.5 ft! Might should have kept him. I caught one that was 39inches and 8lb 9oz and is currently the 10lb line class world record. It would be the overall world record, but that is held by a misidentified long nose that had spots on it. It is 30 something lbs and 55ft long. Spotted gar just dont get that big. You can plainly tell in the pic that I saw of it, theat it was a longnose.

Anyway, you should have submitted it. 3.5ft beats mine!
