I have a 2009 Cobia 21 bay and love it. I have taken in out 30+ miles on good days. Maverick Boat Co is the company that owns Cobia and I believe the Cobia Bay design is almost the same as a Pathfinder. I would prefer getting an aftermarket T-Top because the ones factory seem to be of poor quality. The only thing I don't like is the accessibility of the bilge pump. it is a pain in the ass to get to if you need to replace it. Other than that, plenty of fishing room very well made and easy to launch if you are by yourself! When are you looking to purchase?

Looks just like a pathy and I have owned a pathfinder previously and loved it. But, it is a Cobia not a Pathfinder. Skeeter comes loaded ready to go out of the box.

I am looking for some good arguments for the Cobia and some bad about the Skeeter.

Cobia is not the same hull, mold or anything of a Pathfinder. It just happens to be owned (not necessarily built) by the same company. Pathfinder doesn't even make a 21 to use the hull from.

It's a good boat, don't get me wrong. It's a price point boat.

Skeeter is not a price point boat. It's a fishing boat. It's a tournament ready, kick its ass type boat.

That said, I'd be 100% happy and confident in a cobia but know a skeeter would survive the worst I could throw at it.

I fish 2 ppl max, but mostly solo. I fish the sound and bays and rarely the gulf...I hate trolling. I thought about the 22 but the price and motor difference keeps me going back to the 20 (bigger motor = more gas and higher maintenance bills). I am leaning heavy towards the Skeeter because of the price, reputation, and out of the box ready to go. And the trailers are the best I have ever seen.

You'd probably be happy w the Cobia but you'll love the skeeter.

You will be a lot happier with the Skeeter i think. It will fish a lot better than the cobia.
