I have two. A laser for everyday printing and a Kodak ESP5 inkjet for photos and other color printing. Kodak has the cheapest cartridges. I threw away my HP inkjet because of the cost of the replacement cartridges and software interface problems. If you do a lot of color printing (not photos), get a color laser printer. Try to get one with individual color cartridges. That way, you only have to replace individual color as they run out. Stay away from printers that use combination color cartridges. If you want to print color photos with a laser, you'll have to go to a dye-sublimation printer. The prices have come down considerably but still more expensive than inkjet printers.
