At Gulf Shores yesterday I watched two rain squalls turn on the bite especially when the baitfish came closer to the pier. They hit just about everything from bubble rigs, cigar minnows, artificial like a Rapala, pinfish, and LYs if you could get them. They were on fire all day. So were the Spanish. It made me wonder if the overcast sky and approaching cold front had anything to do with it.

A few years ago I took my daughter and her husband just outside The Pass. We caught three kings, bang, bang, bang. But then a water spout appeared between us and the pass and I beat it back to safety just as soon as I could.
