How big is too big?

Just saw where Hydra Sport is coming out with a 53' center console. Is the fuel economy really going to be that much better than an express? At some point you're gonna want the torque of diesels when pushing a bunch of fiberglass.

It's what's trending, now. I have a feeling that it will pass in time. It's a mines bigger than yours thing.

Sports Illustrated.
I kinda think those that can afford a 53' Hydra Sport are not going to worry about fuel costs.

Fuel consumption isn't just about money. Range is what I'm talking about.
Nice looking rig. 57' Center Console but it's going to be an inboard and I'm betting it's diesel. I kinda like it. Has the best of both worlds.
For our area and the rest of the west coast of Florida, these big center consoles make sense because lots of people want to get out there and get back. It's definitely not about fuel.

I have a deposit on one. Oh, y'all didn't know I was ballin' like that?? Yup, should be fun for dock lights.
Nor-Tech is introducing a 45 and 55 this Fall. We should have one in Orange Beach by August.
Over 50' CC will never make sense to me.

12 ft beam 55 ft long, 1000 gallons of fuel, 45mph cruise at an estimated 1 mpg, 70 mph top speed. Nice size cabin with a full size bed, stand up shower and galley. And you can FISH ALL THE WAY AROUND IT. Makes sense to me. Oh and a quarter of the price of a sportfisher in the same size. Range and comfort.

I'll believe 1MPG when I see it. Been on too many boats boasting these economies only to be disappointed. What's estimated price? Quarter of which sport fisher?
The 53 Suenos...
The only thing missing from that boat is another outboard.

I've offered up a free seat a time or two for a trip and you could have seen the 1 mpg. Depending on load and sea conditions I have seen anywhere from .9 to 1.2 at 40-45 mph in the 392. Those aren't hyped up numbers. And the 45 is gonna be in the $700s and the 55 in the $900s. Price compare that out to a new 45-55ft sporty. Anytime you want to go for a ride Chris, give me a call. I'll make it happen.
