With the weather cooling down a little we are starting to see some nice fall fishing!
In the last couple of weeks we have started catching Kings in the Pensacola Bay. This is one of my favorite types of bay fishing! We typically slow troll live Menhaden alnog the north side of the 3 mile bridge. Cold fronts seem to be the key for a hot bite.
In the same area as the kings we have been also caching some huge Jack Cravelles! these are probably the hardest fighting fish that are found in the bay. Look for fish busting the top of the water and throw a bucktail jig or topwater at them.
Redfish are still biting good in the bay, we are finding a good number of slot fish this time of year. In the same areas we are catching good numbers of Black Sanpper and a few flounder mixed in.
Lastly, the Grouper are finally starting to bite pretty good in the Bay! We have been using fresh Menhaden and Live Pinfish and live Croakers. Expect to catch some big Red Snappers while Grouper fishing as well.
