I grew up in North Carolina hunting with my dad, and even there 30 and 35 years ago I remember more hot opening days than not... makes you really want to get out there early or late; always seemed to us they didn't fly well in the heat of the day.

I'm up north a bit, dove season opened this past Saturday...high 50's..birds were everywhere. Sounded like a warzone. Warden stopped by and checked my fishing license and he told me many of the guys he checked had their limit of 15 by 9:00 a.m.

Temperature makes a big difference.

I can’t wait for opening dove season. We’re gonna fry some fish in the afternoon and then shoot the heck outta them at a private field. It will just be nice to shoot uncontrollably. Dove in the bucket will be a bonus!
