It ticks me off just to type this, but yesterday was the biggest clusterf**k of a hunting experience I've ever had.

Long story short, we were hunting Blackwater Sunday morning... we had a buddy with us who had never been hunting before, so we actually walked in at about 6:30 so we could walk him to the tree and show him how to use a climber and not fall, lol. He got up fine and I made my way down to the bottom... it was such a pretty morning and the sun was clearing the horizon by the time I got to the tree I was going to climb. I hauled ass up the tree and realized I climbed the wrong one, I couldn't see crap. I climbed down about 10 feet to where I was about 25 feet up and I could see fairly well sitting down, but if I was standing I really couldn't see to my right very well at all. About this time I had a doe ease out of the bottom. Instead of adjusting any more I just sat down and enjoyed the show. From then until about 9:30 I watched several deer come out of the bottom. By then, the wind was starting to crank pretty good. 10am rolled around and our buddy was starting to get restless. We told him to stay up and we would walk to him and maybe we would push a deer to him. I stand up and stretch out, and man I had to pee. Bad. I figured since we were leaving anyway, I'd just pee out of the tree... so there I am in front of God and everybody with my pecker in my hand, and I catch some movement to my right through all the thick stuff that I can't see through while standing up... IT'S A BUCK! he's about 80 yards and trotting down the hill towards the bottom. I finish draining the main vein and damn near blew an O-ring... sit down real fast and grab my gun. By the time I get him in the scope he's in some short pines and showing no sign of slowing down, I grunt a few times trying to stop him and he doesn't slow down so I squeeze one off on the .308 BAR. I look and there's bark flying everywhere from a short pine in front of him. Wtf. I look up and find him again, squeeze another one off as he's in a quartered away trot into the thick. I guess I missed because he didn't drop and we found no blood or hair anywhere.

He wasn't anything special, a 6 point probably 12-13 inches wide and 15 inch main beams.

Talk about mad.... I'm still ticked. Lol.

Hope y'all had a better weekend than I did.

Sent from my Galaxy S5....

One of my wife's cousins shot a huge 12 pt a few years ago while dropping a deuce. He grabbed his gun but had to turn and crapped all over himself.

He got the deer though.

At least I am not the only one out there killing trees. I did the same yesterday morning except this was the biggest buck I have seen on hoof in BW.
