I am staying at the Shoreline towers in Destin until Thursday. So far I have only managed to catch a ton of Ladyfish with spoons from the beach. Today I woke up at 5 and went to the pier and had zero luck. After that I went to the east jetty and had zero luck. The surf has been really rough and accompanied by a steady strong wind to the point where a 4 oz sinker won't stay in place. Where can I go or what can I use at the beach they'll allow me to catch a wider variety of fish in the present conditions??? I have been crawling through the forum for advice but I'm stumped with these conditions. All of this is pretty new to a Missouri boy and any advice is appreciated!

Not sure how far you wanna travel. There isn't much where you are other than beach. Depending on where and when you're wanting to fish, there are some bridges you can fish, with a little driving, for inshore species Spanish reds trout and mangroves.

Thanks for responding. Where are this bridges? What kind of bait/lures should I utilize to catch these species?
