A mechanic told me in passing that I should mist everything on my boat with CRC656. Electrical, chrome, anything that had to fight corrosion. Said it was cheap and much better than WD40.

I may have the name wrong. I remember he said initially it was called 3 letters followed by 666, but the 666 scared everyone off, changing it to 656.

Does anyone know what this stuff is, its name, had any experience with it, and if good where you buy it?

Yes it is CRC 6 56. I spray i/o's and outboards down with it last thing before I finish a job. WD 40 is a big mistake. It stays Flamable even after you spray it. I had a customer tell me years ago that he use to use it until he blew the cowling off his motor. 6 56is flamable and it does not actually dry. It is also not sticky like a lot other anti corrosion sprays. Cost is about $5.95 for 9 oz can.
