As the title states, I was wondering if anyone here goes after them. They look like a pretty good addition to my culinary seafood diet. I have a 4" clam gun that is used in the Pacific Northwest to harvest razor clams and I was thinking to put it to use on these beauties.

I have not eaten one but I have had a finger sliced open with those razer sharp appendages when I took one out of a trawl. They didn't nickname them thumb splitters for nothing.

I've tried 'em and wasn't impressed but I'm sure there's a way to make 'em palatable. I go out with a shrimper over in Apalachicola a time or two a year and they haven't caught many this year. Three years ago the numbers were off the hook. I saved about 50 pounds one night to use for black snapper bait.

I made the mistake of trying to grab one that appeared to be near death from my hook...that left a mark. I caught it right inside the pass.
