YOu can get a hero 2 for about 250 now so there isnt much of a price difference .
I would go ahead and get the 2 It does a lot better in lowlight conditions and also the 2 button system on the 2 is easier to use.
As far as which one to get I would consider what other things you may use it for and decide based on that .
None of them really cater to a kayak more then the others most of us build custom
mounts on mono pods . If you if don't understand what i'm trying to say just let me know.
