Getting closer to getting my boy his first deer. We've had chances. Today they were just too far away and one simply moved through too quick for him to get a shot. But we saw five deer and it was a great afternoon to sit with my boy.

Been trying to get my six year old on his first also, almost got a shot on a small buck two weeks ago but it it ran off chasing a doe. He said his heart beating fast when I gave him the green light. He’s been begging to go every day since.

Last year, he went a few times with me and we didn't have much luck seeing anything when he went with me. So this season, he kind of didn't want to go. But he had one close encounter where he almost got a shot off and we've been seeing deer on each sit. So it has brought his enthusiasm about going back up. Here's to hoping your boy gets one as well.
