"BOWFIN" OR SOME TIMES CALLED A COTTON FISH. VERY SPORTY TO CATCH BUT NOT VERY GOOD TO EAT. IT'S LIKE EATING A BALL OF COTTON, CAN'T CHEW IT DOWN. IMO

(THAT'S NOT ME IN THE PIC) BTU THATS A BOWFIN.

We call them grinnell. Great eating. Here is how we fix them in Arkansas;

1. clean the fish soon after catching.

2. open the carcass and tack to a flat cedar board.

3. grill over a bed of hardwood coals.

5. carefully remove fish from cedar board.

6. throw away fish and eat the cedar board. :moon

I caught one when I was stationed in Norfolk and lived in Moyock,NC. Didn't know if they where good, but my GF really liked liked fish, SOOOOO, I cooked her some fish. Well, after she spit it out,well, I never kept any more.
