I don't know about supporting the weight of a kayak on the back glass.
It is strictly for loading the kayak, kind of like a ramp. The kayak itself will not be sitting on there for any length of time other than pushing the yak up onto the main roof racks. The glass would be just fine. :thumbup:

ive seen kids walking on the back glass of cars so, i think just a simple slide of a yak up to the top will be as austin said just fine! awesome find oxbeast!

Just like the others said its more or less for extra support and to help keep it straight . One guy on that forum did break his windshield but it was because he let the kayak drop from the roof rack on to the glass. Even without the supports that would have been bad news.

There is a product they sell called k-rack that the idea came from.

Im trying to figurenout the best way to transport my pro angler in/on my hinda element .
