My brother just lost his leg above the knee due to diabetes. I want to go up to Virginia and install some grab rails for him but he lives in a much older single wide trailer and I’m concerned about structural strength in the walls to do this. I was hoping y’all maybe have done this or maybe have a few ideas. I’ll take any input into consideration. Thanks!

Grab rails inside? Depending on location, Cobra anchors, anchor a run of 1x4 where you want to bolt, or bolt through the wall...

I'm sure others will come along with better ideas.
Yep your best bet is to fasten a 1x4 horizontal into the studs and then anchor the grab bars to it.

Agree with above. Could pre cut some, sand them and stainnor paint so they look appealing if thats of concern.

What Jaster said, But I'd run a Radius on the coroners and Bullnose the edge.... No sharp edges . 1 X 4 is 3 1/2in..... I'd think of going 1 X 6. After all they may be a time that a Serious amount of weight is exerted. Those Stainless Handrails have 3 screws in each end... It would be good if you can hit one on each end thru the 1 X and into the stud.

Many of those older mobile homes have 2 x 2 studs on interior walls, and 2 x 4 on the exterior walls.

This is my biggest concern
