How is everyone's food plots doing with this weird summer weather pattern ?
I dont have my own property or plots yet so I live vicariously through the forum till that day arrives.
3 months and counting till opening day

I planted iron clay peas and sun hemp, which are doing good but plenty of weeds. Haven't thought about spraying them. I used a spreader to plant them but I believe I will try a grain drill next time.

Has anyone ever added sun hemp in with your fall plots?

I thought about adding sun hemp but after hearing the horror stories of the massive 8-9 foot tall stalks I’m not sure I want to go that route. Looking forward to seeing how yours do.
I hear they are good for soil improvement.
Hope they do well!

I was thinking of adding some to my fall plots to see if it makes the deer feel safer and come out in them earlier.

No on the sun hemp. Sorghum works well as does brown top millet and late season corn.
