I will be down at the end of July, early august for a week, and will be staying at 1300 Fort Pickens Rd. On one side of the condo is the beach, and the other side is the bay. I'd like to fish in the bay and was wondering what I might be able to catch at that time, and if it is legal to fish it from the bank. I'm going to attempt to post an image from google earth of the location and if anyone could give any pointers as to what to fish for (need to know what to use for bait and all that good stuff) and where to start. I surely appreciate it!

they bay side of were your stayin produces plenty of fish, yes fishing from shore is legal but all the fish limints still stand, look into red fish, trout and flounder, there all out there juss gotta know what to throw depends on the tide and time of day and what you want to catch, Live shrimp on a poppin cork or juss a regular bobber works well to, the shrimp will produce all three fish the only problem is all the darn cathfish(being sailcats, or channel cats-not something u want to eat or catch) and stinge rays...

Josh, I don't live down there, I'll be down end of June, but I was wondering, how'd you capture that Google Map image? I can get the image on the Google Map site, but haven't found a way to save it.

Josh, fishing from shore is only legal if you are a FL resident. If you are from out of state, you will still need to purchase a FL fishing license. If you fish from the pensacola pier on the gulf side, you do not needa license because the $6.50 fee covers the license. To purchase a license you can do so on-line at www.myfwc.com. I believe you can purchase 3 or 7 day licenses if you don't want to purchase a yearly license. If you want to see a lot of fish caught check out the pensacola pier. The king mackeral and spanish mackeral should be pretty good at that time. There are a lot of regulars on the pier that may be able to give you some pointers as to how to fish for the species that they are targeting. Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the info fellas! I plan on getting the 7 day license just so I can go fishing in the bay anytime while I'm down there. To get the google map on here, you go to save as in Google, then just save it to your computer, and I loaded it onto my photobucket album and pasted the code in my message. Thanks again!
