On top of pliers, what about lanyards that don't wind up in every pc of equipment you own? I do mostly surf fishing and always have my fish grabbers on 1 lanyard and pliers on another. Main reason I do this because I've lost way too many to count, and the lanyards work, but good lord are they a pita when they get wrapped up with each other.

I've had good luck with the leather sheaths. Before using for the first time, I smear them with Snow Seal wax and leave them in the sun to bake. Waterproofs and protects.

How does that Danco sheath hold up to saltwater and fish guts? That 149 looks like a great deal.

It's heavy-duty, with a snag-proof leash. The leash attaches to the back with a nice, stainless carabiner that makes it easy to pop off when you need to. There is a brass drain hole at the bottom of the sheath.

For just cutters, you absolutely will never find anything that cuts braid better than these. I have my first pair that's about ~5.5 years old now and they are still going strong. Mostly freshwater but I used them offshore and inshore down there as well

It's hard to tell in the photo but they are lightly serrated, so mono and flouro don't slip while your cutting. My father used the edge closest to the hinge for wire even though I advised against it, they are still going strong.

I just bought a new pair mostly because it has a lanyard ring now

The tough part is finding a good sheath for them

If only more places sold them, Amazon just started to, otherwise I order straight from the website
