Scrawled Cowfish, Acanthostracion quadricornis

We got a winner. I caught one off the pier in Mexico Beach about 12 yrs. ago 1st one I ever saw.

Bet it will be good with some beans and rice.

Yep cowfish. I caught one off of sikes once. Really interesting fish with the hard exoskeleton And if im not mistaken they are somewhat poisonous to eat.

Small mouths, net?

Saw a couple snorkeling the pass a few years ago.

I caught mine on a piece of shrimp with a small j hook. With their flat bottoms it looks like they just sit on the bottom and eat anything that goes by.

"CHAPIN" Good Eating. DO NOT mix with other fish in the same ice chest because it releases some kind of toxin that will definitely spoil them.
