Ron, sorry to hear about the health issues. I wish you and Susan well.

As for selling stuff, I think it might be easier to just pick a REALLY GOOD price, and hold firm on that....

The grab bag idea is interesting. I just think it might be easier and quicker to piece it out.... FOR GOOD A DEAL.

Ron, I too am sorry to hear about your health and hope that things look up for you and Susan. I think the idea is unique for sure, but i don't have the money to participate. I will ask the Lord to Bless you and Keep you, and make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you Peace.

The grab bag idea is an uinque idea. Never heard of anyone doin that on here. Would be interesting to see who gets what.

But on the other hand Imight be interseted in looking at a few of the items you mentioned if you would sell before your grab-bag is set in stone.

Pm me if you are interested... Reel Anexity

Look, I'm not with one foot in the grave.......yet:doh Appreciate your thoughts. I figure now is the time to part with the boat as Susan and I will still be able to hit the road with our 5th wheel. I know money is tight for quite a few. Not saying this about any particular person but I see people bitch how bad things are yet they still can go out and spend $20.00 to $50.00 on a dinner. Look at those same people and those that smoke...$4.00+ a pack is $120.00+ a month. By the way I stopped myself....18 days and not too much of a problem, except after eating....cold turkey.:banghead:banghead

My main design is to move the largest item....the boat. I wouldn't have any problem moving most other items. The grab bag idea is that for a $100.00 you still wind up with maybe a $200.00 camera, $50.00 chum churn, $100.00--$300.00 compass, anchor ball and ring, the ring alone is what $45.00, but also maybe just a $12.00 lure or a box of hooks. Think.....1 trip maybe 2 out to the edge...

Dont do it tunaman! I bet you could sell that boat pretty easily, especially with spring around the corner! At least give it a shot, personally I don't like the grab bag idea, Iwouldnt want to end up with something I didnt really want or need. But like others have said, it is a unique idea. Just my .02

Realistically, 100 dollars is not that much money to gamble with. Especially if you stand a chance to get something worth well more. Look at how many people piss away thousands on the lottery or gambling in the casinos. You would make more money parting everything out, but I don't think that is the idea here. This sounds like a fun way to getpeople together and help you out.

SORRY TO HEAR BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT'S THE ROAD WE'LL ALL BE GOING DOWN AT SOME POINT IN OUR LIFE, I THINK ABOUT IT FROM TIME TO TIME ALREADY MYSELF.

I WOULD GO FOR THE GRAB BAG IF YOU DO IT OR JUST AN OUTRIGHT SALE, WHATEVER YOU DECIDE. STILL SORRY TO SEE YOU HAVE TO MAKE SUCH A REALLY TOUGH DECISION.

In this economy, I think that most people don't have $100 to buy a pig in a poke. A good deal is a good deal only if you can use it.

Put a fair price and see what sells. In a few weeks, make "package" deals with the left overs.

You probably will end up with more money overall, and no unhappy buyers.

Hey, thanks but it really doesn't bother me much. I'm 250 miles from the coast and with all the friends and members here I'd bet that I couldn't afford the cost of as many trips that will come up. I look at just short of a bill just in fuel.

That is some of the funniest shit I've heard. Well lets see, you see this great looking gal, ask her out, what for??? If you are straight ultimately for some trim. Spend how much on her only to find out she is a bitch or SHE thinks you are a dick head. When you could of said...lets see what you got, if I like it, I might buy some.

Ever play a hand of poker...ever buy a lottery ticket, roll a pair of dice. Ever spend a bill out on the water only to catch jack, breakdownand get towed in.

How many times (I don't tho) do people go to a movie, spend what $20.00 plus being held up at the concession stand for another $10-$20, and walk out knowing they wasted $50.00 as the movie wasn't that good. Besides, I don't patronize the movies as so many of the actors/actresses are too liberal for me and I refuse to help them live their standard. I don't even know how much it cost for two, or a family to go to a movie today. Haven't been to one in the last 10+ years.

Sure some would be unhappy, but knew what the deal was going in. Yea I'd love to see the face of the person, finding out that his bag has a boat with a total of less then 10hours on the 5.7. A outdrive that has ALL worn parts replaced ...universal joints, shift cable bellows seals, and a damn $300.00 part I can't recall the actual name of at this time. Motor alone would cost the owner somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,500 to $1,800...not counting full set of exhaust manifolds that have the 10 hours all of which is freshwater.

hey ron, im not sorry at all about your health since you dont have "one foot in the grave yet" :moon.

as for the grab bag idea, dont do it!! i agree with the others. if your are capable of dealing with a sale, you'd come out better if you just sold the boat. besides, you know too many folks on here. if someone you dont know gets the boat, fine. HOWEVER, if someone you do know, and know REAL well gets the boat then there will be hell to pay. this sounds better than the raffle idea since everyone is actually purchasing something directly. sounds like would be legal. anyway, if you do it, count me in.

The Florida lottery will pick out the bag number and numbers and contents of each bag posted before the drawing. For example..70 bags purchased...the Florida lotteryas ofsay 1 April has a I believe "Cash Three" ...The first drawing that has the last two numbers of between 1 and 70, as of the 1 April drawing will be used.

For example if the drawing started Jan 18th..there would be no winner that day and would have to wait till the next day, but a Jan 17th drawing would have a winner of bag # of "31"

From the south Exit 231 and 1.7 miles. Exit 234 and about the same 1.7 miles.

Those are taken North bound

Exit 228 Downtown Calera if you want to call it that. Exit 231 is where I get off from the South and a right turn with China Mart on your left, and Exit 234 Shelby County Airport and Airport Marine on your right if coming from Birmingham.
