That's a big ol' LY! Seems like when they're at the boat, if you can put enough pressure to back them up, it'll break their spirit and they'll stop that aggravating air gulping/prolonging the fight stuff.

If you try it and break one off or pull the hook, I don't know anything about it.

Nice 'poon btw.

just got back from down there last Tuesday, we tried to fish Sun and Mon and the wind blew out of the west 15 to 20 both days along with a front that moved thru and the Tarpon moved offshore. we stayed inshore and got into some good Snook fishing, several in the 28" to 30" range. I love it down there.

I didn't mind the prolonged boatside fight. It makes for better video when the tarpon decides not to jump even once!

Off Route II, the fishing down here is definitely awesome. I'm from Foley, BTW.
