Got out to crooked island at 8am to find an extremely slow bite. The only thing pomps would take is fiddlers on a yellowtail hook 5 or 6 feet under a big float. Would have had a limit if flipper hadn't stole two.
The whiting were caught on green or orange silly willies tied on a loop knot with a fly.

Did you try for reds?
I strictly fished pompano and whiting. I'll be launching tomorrow at 5 or 5:30. Im going to fish close to the launch until 8 when my buddy shows up. After that we will be either in the pass or outside the pass to the east a few hundred yards.
