I always put in at the fish camp at 90 and Scenic, right besides Mugs N Jugs. You can go all up through the river or out around the islands and fish all the flats through out the bay side. I bring live shrimp, D.O.A.s and Gulps. O*D*W

+1 here. I haven't gotten hooked on the Gulps and hate buying live bait though. But as it gets colder a slow sinking shrimp imitation like DOA or knock off will work good. Top water is great as well but the strikes aren't the same as in the early summer. Instead of chasing it down and hitting multiple times you get about one good strike because their metabolism has slowed down and they want easy prey. But you definitely need to get into the dirty water of the upper bays. Unlike summer where the trout go deep during the day they come much shallower onto the grass flats to feed in the warmer water. I haven't fished here in the winter yet so I don't have any good spots but if you find reds in a place in the summer expect the trout to be there in the winter.

Thanks, rfh21. See you later today. Hey, Spec, its not that far of a paddle. Especially when you fish on the way out. But I will advise you, that the afternoon winds tend to make it a little tiresome on the way back in. But for the most part, it not so bad. I have never fished from a kayak that was made for fishing, so it might even be easier for you. O*D*W
