Ok...probably not exactly what you were thinking... Ole boy came in on the heals of a doe. I was sitting on the ground in some newly thin cut pines.Doe got to within 10ft of me before she saw me. She head bob me a few times and then bounced off to my right. He wasn't surewhat was up and I could tell his rack was funky looking on the one side. He started walking a little and I turned and shot. Not the monster I was hoping for but he is definitely different. He had a broke leg on his right side. Probably why his rack was abnormal. He had a cow head on him also. He's the weirdest 8pt I have ever shot by far. I'll get Cole to age him when he capes it out. May skull mount him...

Just looking at his body, head, and what little bit of jaw bone I could feel I think he's gonna be a 4 1/2+. I may be wrong though. Either way I didn't want him breeding. I let him sit for over and hour before going to look at him hoping his daddy would come in (little did I know he was daddy) and he stiffened up.

I sat near the same spot this morning. Had 3 does come by at 15ydsabout 8:00 with nothing behind them. At 9:15 another doe comes flying by about 100yds outat warp 6 and 30 secs behind her is a basket 6pt. I sat and waited till 10:30 but nothing else showed. Threw the towel in for AL and called it a year. This was one crappy season for me. Between blowing my shoulder out during bow season and getting pooped on by 2 good bucks that wouldn't give me a shot it pretty much put the icing on the cake killing the inbred buck above. Oh well...got to take the good with the bad. Just wish we had next week and week after to hunt. I don't think the big boys are quite ready yet. But it will be onnext week forsure. Wish we had gotten that front to move through earlier in the week. Not sure if it would have made a difference or not but it might have made it better.
