I need to do some repair work, add a few pilings, remove some that are damaged, fix some sea wall issues. When I looked at the trash pump rentals available, they seem to be pretty much 80-90 lbs and powered by 5 hp gas engines.

Combination of the daily rental rates and weight makes me wonder if anyone has seen or used an electric powered version? I would be up to rent one of those or even buy one, but wanted to ask since I can't find anything. Thanks

Putting pilings in you will need at least a 2 inch pump, I doubt that they make an electric one that big. Keep in mind that you will need some means to get the piling upright to jet it down. Also your stinger has to be long enough to go from the level you're standing down to the depth that the is jetted down to.

Thanks, I will take a look. Gas is good but I just can't haul 80-90 lbs around like I used to. Thats why I was hoping electric may be available at half the weight

Please use a GFI breaker on the power supply to the electric pump. Electricity and Water don't mix!:nonono That said I have a 2 inch high head electricwell pump you can use. It should work if the water is pretty clean and you use a strainer on the suction pipe. > Ken

Ken, thanks for the offer, unfortunately the water now is horrible and it scares me quite honestly. Live downstream from a golf course, with all the rains the water is solid alge soup, looks more like a kelp bed than the water I have lived with for 10 years. DEP says its the worst they have seen in 30 years, but of course no one wants to clean it up......

Not sure where I go from here, I need to do the work but am afraid I am going to destroy a pump / filter in the process given how bad the water is.
